Hiking and biking in Perigord Vert

In the heart of a hilly and green Dordogne area, with a lot of paths and watercourse, Chateau le Verdoyer is an

excellent starting point for walking and biking trip accessible to everybody.

From the campsite, it’s possible to join to lot of roads which are not really busy and which permit you to go to neighbourhood by bike so you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Perigord Vert.

However, if you want to take a drive on a bicycle path, a 16km old railway has been fit out between Saint Pardoux la Riviere to Thiviers in order to welcome cyclist and hiker (about 3h needed by feet and 1h by bike.). This one is now part of the Flow Vélo, a 290km path joining the island of Aix (near to Rochefort) and Thiviers.

 
These paths, with lot of lay-by, go through many various landscapes and give us a wonderful seeing point on the area.
In addition, all of that isolated from cars.

In case you don’t have bikes with you, don’t worry we have some available.

For ramble, the area is well supplied.

 

In the park “perigord-limousin”, you have more than 2000km of marked routes which are waiting for you.
Don’t hesitate to ask at the reception for more information and details or you can have a look on the regional park
 
With Orchids during the spring, mushroom at the autumn, whatever the season, this paths will show you a new face of the perigord.
 
You also can find others kind of hiking mixed with cultural visit.
Thus the regional park organize an audio-guided hiking, with both commentaries and GPS.

A way which allow you to discover Nontron and its area with a new eye.

Around the Lake of Miallet
