An Eco-Responsible Campsite
Our name “Vert-doyer” is no coincidence! Firmly established within the Périgord Limousin Regional Natural Park in the Périgord Vert, Château le Verdoyer has chosen to invest not only in environmental protection but also in the enhancement of its natural space. We are proud to have been awarded the Biorismo label since 2015, a recognition that reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.
Our Concrete Actions for the Planet
As part of our approach, we are committed to upholding a number of environmental standards:
🌞 Solar Energy: Our 200m² of solar panels on the roof capture the energy of the Périgord sun, contributing to our energy production.
⚡ Green Mobility: A charging station for electric vehicles is at your disposal, facilitating your eco-friendly travel.
💧 Water Management: Water-saving devices and shower timers allow us to preserve this precious resource.
♻️ Waste and Maintenance: We practice selective sorting, use recyclable bags, and our housekeeping team uses exclusively organic cleaning products.
💡 Responsible Lighting: We prioritize LED lights, solar lighting, and, more recently, a system of connected bulbs to reduce our energy consumption.
Our Estate: A Sanctuary for Biodiversity
Across our 23 hectares of preserved nature, we have created a true refuge for local fauna and flora. Beyond our daily ecological practices, we are actively working to enhance our natural surroundings and educate younger guests on the importance of respecting the environment:
🦋 Biodiversity Squares: Our maintenance teams preserve grassy areas throughout the growing season without human intervention (no mowing, fertilizers, or pesticides). These zones allow flora to flourish naturally and animal species to settle, creating true miniature ecosystems that are a paradise for wildflowers and butterflies.
🌺 Wild Orchid Trail: A discovery trail for wild orchids winds through the campsite, allowing you to observe these remarkable species during the proper season (April & May).
🐝 Wildlife Refuges: Birdhouses, bat boxes, and insect hotels have been installed to foster local biodiversity.
🌳 Nature Discovery: Information panels help you identify the various species of trees and plants present on the grounds.
Awareness and Sharing
Our commitment does not stop there! In collaboration with the Regional Natural Park and the Lenny Club, we regularly organize educational activities to raise awareness among guests of all ages about environmental protection. Identification panels allow you to discover the richness of our local flora during your walks.
